This week is holiday-shortened, but it doesn’t mean that trading activity will have lesser impact on rates. Last week-end’s deal struck with Iran –with Iran agreeing to curb their nuclear programs in exchange for trade sanctions relief — initially seemed to buoy markets, but the agreement is fragile and has also drawn out many critics. So, the early morning movement toward better rates has pretty much evaporated. Among regular government reports also scheduled for this week are September and October’s Housing Starts, and November’s Consumer Confidence Index. The bond market this week, therefore, may exhibit some choppiness, which will influence rates’ trajectory.
