In honor of Spain winning the World Cup on Sunday, we are featuring 2 wonderful Spanish wines in the mixed grill this week.

2009 Botani
Produced from 70 year old organically farmed Moscatel de Alejandría vines, the 2009 Botani is a white wine with a big personality. On the nose, minerals, spring flowers, acacia, and tropical aromas burst to life. The palate has great concentration, and although the aromatics suggest sweetness, the wine is completely dry, fruity, refreshing, and exceptionally long. If you like big aromatic whites (e.g., Torrantés), give this winner from the Andalucía region of Spain a try.
$5.50 – 4oz glass
$11.00 – 8oz glass
$32.00 – bottle

2008 Atteca
From the Calatayud region in the northeast of Spain, the 2008 Atteca is produced from 80-120 year old Garnacha vines. Deep crimson-colored, it offers up an enticing perfume of black cherry, raspberries, spices and violets. Supple-textured with excellent depth, concentration and plenty of savory fruit, this wine fully demonstrates the fantastic values Spain has to offer the wine world.
$6.00 – 4oz glass
$12.00 – 8oz glass
$33.00 – bottle
