Dear Participant, Volunteer, Student and Friend of Las Campanas Compadres,
Suzanna and I wanted to thank everyone who made this year’s event a resounding success. Our final count was 137 race participants (up from 120 last year), that included 18 special needs teams. We also had over 100 people at our pasta dinner the night before. We are pleased to report that we raised close to $60,000 which is essentially our annual budget.
Each year we try to make our event bigger and better. While we thought this year’s event was great, we know there are small things we can do to make it even better. Next year we will be handing out awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each of the age and team categories as opposed to just 1st and 2nd. We are also working on ways we can make the application process more seamless. If you have any comments or suggestions you would like to give us, please email them to lascamp@msn.com.
As far as we are concerned everyone who participated is a winner. However, it would be remiss of us not to mention and congratulate this year’s winners in our four main categories. They are:
Overall Male: Michael Barney final time: 52:14 A course record!
Overall Female: Katherine van Essen final time: 1:06:13
Overall Team: Merrill Lynch final time 53:27
Overall Special Needs Team: Real Performance final time 1:02:16

We are also a member of the Albertson Community Program whereby we receive a % of everything you spend at the store if you are recognized as a friend of LCC. If you would like a card that identifies you as a friend of LCC please email lascamp@msn.com and we will post a card to you. All you do is present your card at checkout.
