Las Campanas celebrated its first day of liberation Nov 1, 2009. Santa Fe Properties heralded the celebration with a giant open house tour of fine homes in Las Campanas. The full page ad in the Santa Fe New Mexican had an eye opening graphic showing Las Campanas compared to other high end communities in Santa Fe by price per square foot that demonstrated Las Campanas as an excellent value.
All amenities of the Club including the two Jack Nicklaus signature golf courses, the Clubhouse, Spa and Tennis Center, Equestrian Center and all other supportive structures are now owned outright by the members, debt free. A temporary General Manager, Jim Muldowney, is in place. He heads a search firm that is interviewing for a permanent candidate for that position. All facilities are staffed and running as usual.
Additonally, the water co-op and county came to agreement on Las Campanas’ role in the water diversion project. The co-opwill become a customer of the county and there will be no assessment to the membership as Lloyds of London will fund the obligations of the community.
