February 9, 2011 Las Campanas is pleased to announce that they have recruited a top-notch professional as the new Director of Golf – Jason Epstein, PGA, who currently serves in a similar position at Tucker’s Point Club, which is Bermuda’s premier resort, residential and private club community.
Before joining Tucker’s Point Club in 2008, Jason was head golf professional and director of golf at Pawley’s Golf & Country Club in South Carolina. He is a 1995 graduate of New Mexico State University and was a member of the golf team there. Additional background on Jason’s experience is in the press release below, which is being distributed to local, regional and national media. He joins Las Campanas on Monday, April 25.
Las Campanas also is pleased that Erin Kato plans to remain at Las Campanas and to continue providing exceptional service to the members. Las Campanas recognizes the great job she did as the interim golf professional, and thanks Erin for keeping the golf operations running smoothly and seamlessly since October.
Las Campanas also thanks the members and staff who served on the search committee: Nancy Mroz, Gary Kramer, Fred Klinghoffer, Bob Buddendorf, Katie Cullen, Dennis Clements, Greg Flanagan and Tom Egelhoff.
The search by Las Campanas attracted 55 high-quality applicants. Las Campanas narrowed this initial list down to 14 for telephone interviews. Las Campanas then conducted on-site interviews with the top five candidates, and the selection of Jason was unanimous. What particularly impressed Las Campanas about Jason was his proven track record of building strong relations with members and guests at all the clubs he’s served and of demonstrating enthusiastic leadership among his staff colleagues.
This is another very positive and momentum-building step for the Club at Las Campanas – and one that should contribute to the over-arching objective of providing exceptional member service.
