According to Walter Moloney, economics spokesman for the NAR, sales of homes (nationally) of homes priced in the $750K – $1Million market jumped 40% in January 2010 from a year ago. Looking at statistics in Santa Fe County for February 2010, we have seen a 100% increase in homes in the above $750K price range over last year. Mr. Moloney also said “the trade-up market is now beginning to benefit”. SFR, townhomes and condos sales in Santa Fe for Feb, 2010 are above last year’s numbers, both in number and volume. Rates are holding level for the moment – another boon to the buyer’s psyche. AND, we have Spring … just around the corner.
