Kirtland Air Force Base, located on Albuquerque’s southern border: annual economic impact at nearly $3 billion. (This figure does not include Sandia National Labs or Department of Energy impact on New Mexico’s economy, which provide another $2.67 billion.)
Cannon Air Force Base, just west of Clovis: $1.2 billion a year. This amount is off a little after this federal fiscal year; however the 27th Special Operations Wing is building to 6,000 personnel and will eventually have over 100 aircraft .
