It’s an exciting week here at the Club at Las Campanas with our Showdown, Men’s Member Guest being played Wednesday, August 17 through the 20th. In addition to the golf, we have a fabulous party planned for Saturday night. Whether you are joining us for the golf or not, we hope you will make it out on Saturday night. The Showdown Dinner Dance is open to all members this year and will include a tantalizing array of dining options from Chef Nick as well as foot stomping roots and blues music from the legendary Johnny Nicholas, previously of Asleep at the Wheel. 3 Month PGM Interns Leaving
Please thank our interns as you see them over the next few days. They will all be heading back to their various schools for the fall semester after completion of The Showdown, Men’s Member-Guest. They have done a fantastic job throughout the season!
Couples Mixed Foursome Invitational
We invite you to join us for our premier Couples Event of the season, held Thursday, September 1st through Saturday, September 3rd. Practice round on Thursday with drinks, hors d’oeuvres and a skills challenge to follow. The actual tournament is 36 holes of play with one round on Sunrise and one on Sunset. Format on both days include 9 holes of Las Vegas Scramble and 9 holes of 1 low net on the Par 4’s and 5’s, with 2 low net score on the Par 3’s. The 36-hole event is a four person team competition. Teams comprising members and guests or four members can play! For more information call the Golf Shop directly or reference your member event booklet. This is one of our best events of the year.
Men’s & Ladies’ Las Campanas Club Championships
Our Men’s Club Championship will be held Friday through Sunday, September 8-10 The men’s tournament will be played in match play format. This year’s seedings will be based on handicap index with last’s years Champion, Jerry Miller, holding the number one seed in the Gold tee division. The remaining men’s flights will be seeded off the Silver and Blue tees with handicap. Handicaps will be allotted and the competition will be based on net scores from these tees.
The Ladies’ Championships will the held from August 29th and 30th; there will be both gross and net divisions. It will be a 36 hole stroke play event and strokes will be given as the fall on the scorecard.
While Las Campanas Club Championships are traditionally more competitive, we encourage you to consider playing! It’s a great way to test your game and the competition is always friendly.
Only 2 Ladies’ Days Remaining…
Hard to believe we are this far along in the season, but it’s true, we only have two (2) Ladies’ Days remaining in 2016. This coming Wednesday, August 24th the format is You Pick Em, allowing you to choose where your dots fall on your scorecard.
The following Wednesday, August 31st will be our Ladies’ Closing Day with the Golf Professional staff joining for a Scramble format with complimentary lunch to follow.
We hope you can join us each week to close out the 2016 season on a high note!
